Dental Practice Marketing can be challenging but there’s no reason it can’t be fun. We all need dental care and most people are not really excited about making those trips to the office. Try to find a way to make current and prospective patients smile or even laugh and it will take the edge off. The most important thing is for your patients to smile when they think of you. Give them something they would never expect.
Here are some inventive methods for dental marketing.
Social Media Contests
Use Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to host some fun contests. Choose a prize that will generate some excitement such as a free electronic device, a gift certificate to a restaurant or tickets to an event. Be creative and think outside the box on this. One dentist did a successful contest using a high-end electric toothbrush that was donated by the vendor who also cross-promoted the contest.
The contest should enable easy participation and encourage sharing on the contestants’ social media platforms. At the same time, it shouldn’t be as simple as a few trivia questions because once someone guesses the answer, people will stop participating.
Spin the Prize Wheel
Whether you are a pediatric practice or you specialize in general dentistry, this idea can be utilized. Create or purchase a prize wheel and then allow patients to earn chances to spin for prizes which can range from a pack of sugar-free gum to a high prize level that you are comfortable with. Remember, this is all part of your marketing budget so consider investing in some nicer prizes. Provide several ways to earn spins such as arriving on-time for appointments, having a birthday within a certain time range, and for younger patients give spins for a cavity-free checkup.
Host events at the office or at outside locations. For example, you could partner with the local zoo to host an area where you offer games for kids, prizes, and a chance for your staff to mingle and interact. Another idea is to rent out a local indoor amusement place such as Chucky Cheese and host a birthday party for all of your patients.
If older patients are your target market then consider having a cocktail party in your office after hours or host a nice party at a local restaurant. Another idea is to host an informational seminar with snacks and prize giveaways. Keep it light and keep it fun.
For a more in-depth look at how to promote your dental practice:
Get Out Into the Community
Find a way to be a part of community events. Perhaps your staff could serve as volunteers wearing t-shirts that display your name and logo. Host a table at the county fair. Sponsor a charity event. Whatever you do, make sure you have a crew on hand that knows how to smile and represent your dental office well.
Family Movie Night
Either rent out a theater for the evening or rent an inflatable screen to have a movie in the park. Have a limited number of tickets and give them out through social media, an email blast, and at the office. At the showing be sure to provide healthy snacks and drinks. It’s very important that the doctor and his family are on hand to meet people and thank them for coming.
There are a lot of ways to promote your dental practice as one that is approachable, fun, and enjoys giving people a good time. Dental Practice Marketing is something every dental practice must consider and plan for. Be unique. Be fun.
